Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

Service provider

Senior Home Safety is a service of Novo Industries Inc., an Alberta corporation (BN 716914023) based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Scope of services

We provide residential home safety assessments for fall risk, mobility barriers, and accessibility gaps. Our assessments follow the Senior Home Safety Specialist (SHSS) standard and include a written report with prioritized findings, cost estimates, and a phased capital plan.

Our assessments are observational and advisory in nature. We do not perform construction, renovation, installation, or repair work. We do not provide medical, occupational therapy, or physiotherapy services.

Assessment reports

Reports are prepared for the client who commissioned the assessment. The report reflects conditions observed at the time of the visit. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee that every hazard or deficiency has been identified. Conditions may change after the assessment date.

Cost estimates provided in the report are approximate ranges based on typical contractor pricing in the Calgary area. They are intended for planning purposes and should not be treated as formal construction quotes.

Professional qualifications

Our assessor holds the Senior Home Safety Specialist (SHSS) designation. We maintain comprehensive liability insurance covering all assessment activities. Proof of insurance is available upon request.

Scheduling and cancellation

Assessment visits are scheduled by mutual agreement after you submit a contact form or reach us by email. We ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel. We reserve the right to reschedule in the event of weather, illness, or emergency.

Payment

Our assessment fee is a flat fee covering the full visit and written report. The fee and any applicable travel supplement will be confirmed before the visit is booked. Payment terms will be communicated at the time of booking.

Limitation of liability

Our assessment is an advisory service. We are not responsible for any injury, damage, or loss arising from conditions in the home, whether or not those conditions were identified in our report. We are not responsible for the quality or outcome of any renovation, modification, or repair work performed by third parties based on our recommendations.

Our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the assessment fee paid.

Intellectual property

The assessment report, LiDAR floor plan, and all associated deliverables are the intellectual property of Novo Industries Inc. The client receives a license to use the report for personal planning and to share it with family members, caregivers, occupational therapists, and contractors as needed. The report may not be published, resold, or used for commercial purposes without our written consent.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
